So no good news to report...

The house went up for auction, and no one bid, so now it is a REO property, we are waiting for it to come back on the market to see what they will be listing it for. Needless to say our offer wasn't considered.

However, that could have been due to the fact that our bank approval letter was supposedly not real, and the woman who did it has been fired. Which is really upsetting! So we are currently working with another bank, and we just have a few more things to turn in before she can get us fully approved. (I really like their mortgage rep and she seems so helpful!)

So as soon as we get our hands on this last piece of paperwork and turn it in, I am hoping it will only be smooth sailing from there. This new approval will give us another 3 months to find a home, but I'm hoping it will be sooner than that.

We put in an offer!!!

The first house we went to look at on Friday was the one that we've been waiting for to come back on the market. It came back on as of the 1st of this month, but due to the horrible weather the soonest we could view the house was this past Friday.

Luckily I had seen the house listed on truila.com before it actually came back on the market. Sometimes foreclosed homes are listed before they come back on but they don't give you the specific address, just a few random specs and the listing matched the original short sale listing. So I let our Realtor know to watch out for it, and that's how he got us the first showing of the house.

Apparently there are 5 others who are looking at this house over the weekend and I have a feeling it will be going fast. We put in a good offer, and I hope to god we get it! ::crossing all my fingers and toes::

The house itself is in a really good neighborhood, it is probably the smallest house on the street however, but I'm okay with that. It's a cute ranch with 3 bedrooms and a decent sized bathrooms. The house also has a full sized bathroom which will be nice for once.

The house doesn't come with a fridge or stove, just an ugly dishwasher. The cabinets and counter is super cheap, so we will be ripping it all out and putting in something nicer. We will also be putting in new appliances. It also has some cheap paneling as you can see on one wall in the kitchen, that will be coming down and the whole thing will be painted. (The people who owned this house had a horrible taste in paint.
I also don't care for the light fixtures so we will probably replace those as well.

They decided to leave the ugly couches and coffee table... uh no thanks. And they took the tv, damn. Lol.

The bedrooms are decent sized and will just need repainting. We also have to replace all the cheap doors to these rooms as well.

There really isn't too much work to do to the house. Just cosmetic stuff, which is nice.
I really hope our offer is taken. That would be awesome!

Here's to hoping the home dryspell is over...

Yeah, so since my last posting there has been a scarcity of homes fitting our requirements, and we visited a few that were definitely misses. Honestly there has been nothing we've seen so far that might even be worth blogging about.

This Friday we are looking at three, possibly four houses. Of them there are only two I was really interested in. One however only has a two bedroom, which is disappointing, however it is quaint and cute inside. The other is the one on S. Tallyho which is finally back on the market. I'm excited to finally see it, but I'm going to try to not keep my hopes up.

In other good news, we are almost finished with filing our taxes. I just have to get one last tax paper so we can file the state one. We are getting a really decent amount back this year. I am pretty ecstatic about it, if all goes well this chunk of change will be helpful in buying stuff for the new house and baby's nursery.

I hope that the next time I blog that there is some good news for me to share, or at the very least that I can report that we've put in an offer on a home.

My plans for this blog after the dreaded buying process is to record the transition of moving and making the house we buy our home, and progress pictures of any changes we make as well as pictures of the nursery. I can only hope we will be in our home by the end of March or early April.
